Every valve configuration is unique, with varying geometries, materials, operating pressures and stored energy levels.
Despite these differences, one fundamental principle always applies: as operating pressure and contained volume increase, the amount of stored energy rises significantly, resulting in higher potential impact forces and more severe failure consequences.
Rather than designing every safety enclosure from scratch, we have developed a series of standardized safety enclosure concepts based on pressure class and valve size.
These Safety Protection Levels (SPL’s) are derived from comprehensive engineering analyses and validated against representative worst-case loading conditions, providing a practical, consistent and reliable safety solution.
To ensure personnel and equipment are adequately protected, each application is evaluated using a structured risk assessment based on recognized safety engineering principles. This assessment identifies credible failure scenarios, quantifies the associated hazards, and determines the required level of protection.

By evaluating these scenarios collectively, the enclosure design provides protection against the full spectrum of credible failure events rather than a single isolated load case.
SPL-2 features:
Each standardized concept addresses the most critical valve failure mechanisms, including: hydrostatic failure; High-pressure gas release; small and large projectile generation; weld failure; shrapnel impact; brittle fracture; blast wave effects.
SPL-3 features:
Our safety enclosure concepts provide mechanically verified structural integrity, with enclosure designs supported by engineering calculations and structural verification to demonstrate their ability to withstand the specified design loads.
